If Your Child is Unwell

    Illness

If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, please contact us before 9am each day of their illness. You can do so via phone, email, or through our IRIS Parentmail App. If you choose to notify us through the app you'll need to choose 'Notify Absence' from the menu, then select your child's name to add their absence.

At busy times, we have an answering service; please leave your child's name, class and reason for absence.

Should your child fall ill with vomiting or diarrhoea, we ask that you keep them off school for 48 hours following the last bout of sickness/diarrhoea to eliminate an outbreak in school.

    Head Bumps

At Markeaton Primary School we take head bumps very seriously.  Should your child experience a bump to the head during the school day, no matter how small, we will endeavor to contact the parent/carer so that they can continue to monitor the situation at home.

    Administration of Medicine in School

We do not administer non-prescribed medication.

For prescribed medication, please download and complete the form below and hand to a member of the School Office Team.  If your child only needs medicine three times per day, we ask you to consider giving them a dose before school, straight after school and again before bedtime.
