Our target is to achieve or exceed 97% whole school attendance throughout the school year.

Regular and punctual attendance is very important for your child's education and so is celebrated here at Markeaton Primary School.  At the end of every half term, children with attendance of 98% and above receive a sticker; children with 100% attendance receive a certificate.  This is repeated at the end of the school year for overall attendance of 98% and above.  Children with 100% attendance for the whole school year will receive a special enamel badge to congratulate them.

Pupils whose attendance is consistently below 90% are classed as persistent absentees, as defined by the Government Guidelines, regardless of whether or not absence is authorised and may be subject to involvement from Educational Welfare.

Please see our attendance policy for more detailed information.
